U11-U14 NPL-Academy team tryouts for 2013-2014 are underway. Players interested in trying out for one of our boys or girls U11-U14 NPL Teams should send an email to the PSC Travel Committee at travel@parsippanysoccerclub.org with your name, date of birth, and contact information to find out the training time for the respective team. Players will be invited to attend a training session and will be evaluated by the team’s coaching staff during practice.

Purpose
To award a scholarship to one girl and one boy who are seniors at Parsippany High School, to one girl and one boy who are seniors at Parsippany Hills High School, and to one girl and one boy who are seniors at a high school other than a Parsippany Troy-Hills District.  If it can’t be divided this way, we will give out all 6 to the most deserving candidates, all of whom are members of the Parsippany Soccer Club.  The award is given in recognition of dedication to soccer, consistent demonstration of soccer skills, sportsmanship, and academic achievement.

Eligibility Requirements

• Any member of the Parsippany Soccer Club who is a graduating senior of high school and is an active and paid member of the Club by April of the graduating year is eligible. Hardship waivers of fees are accepted.
• Active members of their respective soccer high school soccer team (as determined by the end of the season roster).
• Acceptance to an institution of higher education or technical school.

Amount of Award
Each scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000.00.

Recipient Determination
Recipients will be selected from the criteria from which points are given. A committee of the Parsippany Soccer Club will calculate each applicant’s total points.  No parent of a graduating senior student may serve on the committee.

Deadline
Applications should be submitted to the Guidance Office for completion of class rank. All applications must be returned in the enclosed envelope by May 10th.

With an outstanding record of 10-1-2 for the Super Y season, the Cobras have has clinched the Mid Atlantic Championship and will head down to Tampa in December for the Super Y National Finals.  Teamwork has been a cornerstone of this team, with 11 on the roster contributing goals over the season.  Will Novak led the team with 7 goals and Will Pauls and Cameron Harr contributed 4 each.  The strong and consistent defense allowed only 12 goals over the entire Super Y season.  The team also placed 3rd in their inaugural season with the NPL league.  Good luck in Tampa, Cobras!

Congratulations to Team Bayern for winning the Fall 2012 U8 Flight 2 Boys Soccer Division of the Morris County Youth Soccer Association (MCYSA).  In only their first season playing together, these 12, highly-skilled boys put up a solid record of 7-1-2 for Parsippany’s youngest boys travel team.  Over the 10 game span they outscored their opponents 38 to 10 and posted 6 shutouts.  The parents, coaches, and managers are extremely proud of each and everyone of you. GO TEAM BAYERN!!!!

Congratulations to the Parsippany SC players nominated and selected to the Super Y-League Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Camps.  The ODP Program, which brings together top players from across the United States and Canada, is a crucial component of the USL Super Y-League, offering the best players from the U13 to U17 age groups a chance to receive top-quality coaching and the opportunity to be scouted by U.S. National Team and college coaches.

The Super Y-League Olympic Development Program (ODP) national camps will be held at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. between Feb. 28 and March 3.

As a well-respected trainer/coach that has also excelled on the high school field. He has had the good fortune of working with numerous student athletes who have achieved excellence at some of the most competitive colleges and universities in the United States. Along the way several of Lembryk’s players (both male and female) have been selected to US regional and youth national teams, Super Y National ODP Teams, high school/college All-Americans, New Jersey high school player of the year selection, a Hermann award winner, and a Women’s Professional league player. Under his tutelage he has transformed boys and girls programs (Jupiter High School, FL, and Clifton High School, NJ) into state powers winning several league, county and state championships. For his accomplishments he has been recognized as a Coach of the Year on five separate occasions highlighted by his 2001 Newark Star Ledger Girls High School Coach of the Year selection for leading Clifton to its first Group IV State Final.

Lembryk is the owner and Director of the Lembryk Soccer Academy LLC, as well as a former High School Regional All-American at Clifton High School and a member of the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame (2007). As a four- year letterman at Loyola University (MD) he led the school to four conference titles and NCAA national quarterfinals.  He was an all-conference selection, captain and the recipient of the ROTC Student/Athlete Leadership award. He represented the US Region I U- 23 team and has played professional soccer in the American Professional Soccer League, the D3 USL Pro League, and in Major League Soccer.  Lembryk has been a high school special education teacher for the past eighteen years, and has been nominated (2011)for the Clifton Excellence in Education Award. He organizes an annual Kicks against Breast Cancer soccer game raising money for cancer research, he is the President of the Clifton High School Soccer Alumni Association that rewards an annual scholarship for a graduating senior and also sits on the soccer board for the Sportfriends Soccer Club 1933; a non-profit youth club that is one of the oldest soccer clubs in America.

It is an honor to work with a club that has been a pioneer in youth soccer for over thirty years. Parsippany’s long standing tradition and excellent reputation has been felt from the local to the national levels making it one of the most highly respected club programs in the country” regarded Lembryk.   “I want to bring my enthusiasm and experience to further create a soccer environment that allows individual players to solve problems on their own with great technique and tactical savvy. I will oversee the development of our vertically integrated player system that will allow our players to progress from the foundation stage to our elite teams”.

The U17 Gators, playing in the Classic Flight of the Showcase event, finished with 2 wins and a tie over their 3 days of playing,  They out scored their opponents 5 to 1.  "The team put out a tremendous effort all weekend and the results showed it.  However, more important then the results was their quality of play as the boys showcased their talents to over 80 college coaches.", said Coach Stan Lembryck

The U13 Celtic Bhoys went 1-1-1 in group play to qualify for the consolation match of the Superior flight against Triangle FC of North Carolina.  "We came out strong and took it to Triangle to get a goal in the first 10 minutes.  The boys kept up the pressure and almost scored several times before halftime, however, their shots could not find the back of the net.  It was our continued pressure in the second half that eventually led to another goal; keeping command of the play until giving up a goal in the final minutes.  It was a good weekend for the boys and I am proud.", said coach Stan Matlak

The youngest of the teams to go Virginia was the U12 Crew.  The Crew went undefeated in group play of the Platnium flight beating Rage of Eastern PA 4-1, Beadling of Western PA 2-1, and Washington Township 1-0.  The final against CYA Cesena of Virginia was not the result the team had in mind as several breakdowns preceeded goals and the team lost 4-0.  "It was a tough weekend against some very good opponents.  The boys played extremely well on Saturday, but looked a little worn out on Sunday.  The played hard and deserved to be in the final; we were just hopping for a better result.  It was a good learning experience for the boys and the trip provided a great bonding opportunity for the team itself and with the older boys", said coach Stan Matlak.

"It was an overall fantastic weekend for the Parsippany Soccer Club Boys.  They all rose to the challenge against some tough competition and made the Club, their coaches, their parents, and most importantly themselves proud of their sportmanship and play", said PSC Director Of Coaching Stan Lembryck.

After her successful Club and HS career, Ingrid went to Georgetown University.  She red-shirted her sophomore year to help the US U20 Women’s team win the 2008 U20 World Cup in Chile.  Ingrid not only signed a professional contract with Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC to play in Sweden, but was also drafted in the second round by Sky Blue of the WPS.

UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finalists Göteborg FC have signed American midfielder Ingrid Wells with coach Torbjörn Nilsson describing her as a "future star".

Göteborg FC have signed United States Under-23 midfielder Ingrid Wells.

The 22-year-old, currently on a training camp with Pia Sundhage’s senior US squad ahead of Olympic qualifying, will join her first professional side having graduated from Georgetown University, where she was one of the most successful players in the college’s history with a record number of assists. Wells was part of the US side that won the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Coach Torbjörn Nilsson, who has already rung changes in his midfield with the arrival of Ingvild Stensland and departure of Lisa Dahlqvist, said of Wells: "She is exactly what we have been looking for. This girl is a future star and has just been given a chance in the national team." Last season’s Swedish runners-up Göteborg face Arsenal LFC in the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals.

Georgetown’s Ingrid Wells Signs Professional Contract in Sweden Jan. 5, 2012

WASHINGTON - Former Georgetown University women’s soccer player Ingrid Wells (Montclair, N.J./Upper Montclair) will begin her professional career later this month after signing a contract with a team in Sweden.
Wells, a three-time First Team All-American selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), has signed a contract with Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC, based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

"This is a great career move for Ingrid," Head Coach Dave Nolan said. "Kopparbergs/Göteborg are one of the top teams in Sweden, which is a fantastic league to play in. In addition she will be able to play for her new club as they prepare for a Champions League against Arsenal FC of England, which is very exciting."

Wells, who has been training with the United States National Team since finishing school in December, will take part in the team’s preseason training camp later this month.

"The benefit of being a full time professional means that Ingrid can focus solely on developing her game as she looks to become an integral part of the future of U.S. soccer," Nolan said. "We are very proud of her and wish her well, she deserves everything she gets."

Wells helped lead the Hoyas to their most successful regular season in program history, as the Blue & Gray finished the 2011 schedule with a 15-6-0 overall record. The 15 wins were the most in a regular season and tied for the most in a season overall with the 2010 squad. Georgetown finished in second place in the American Division of the BIG EAST Conference, earned a first round bye and advanced to the semifinals of the league tournament for the second time in program history.

Wells led the Hoyas in scoring this year with 30 points, tallying nine goals and a team-high 12 assists. She was third on the team in goals scored. Wells ranked fourth in the BIG EAST in points (1.43 points per game) and led the league in assists (0.57 per game), while tying for ninth in goals scored. Nationally, Wells ranked No. 12 in the country in assists per game and 50th in points per game.

The 5-3 redshirt senior was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year for the second-straight season and she earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors for the fourth time in her career.

A candidate for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy, recognizing the top player in the country, Wells is the all-time leading scorer in school history with 31 goals and 46 assists for 108 points, becoming the first player in program history to reach 100 points.

Wells, an anthropology major, graduated from Georgetown as the school’s all-time leader in points scored (108) and assists (46) and second all-time in goals scored (34).

Teams will not be given practice time until they provide carded rosters to the PSC VP Travel Program.

Both the club and the leagues in which we play need more referees.  Without licensed referees within the club, we can not fill our quota to each league and our chance of having uncovered matches increase.
