After a great season of soccer last fall, the 4 and 5 year old girls and boys from Division 7 Team 10 donated soccer balls for underprivileged kids in Guatemala City during their end of season party. With this donation, the team will sponsor the Potter House initiative, which helps extremely poor kids and families in Guatemala City who, literally, live on a garbage dump. Read related story here.
The balls will be handed over to Martin Hutton who, together with his family, goes to Guatemala City every summer to help build and fix homes. In addition, he will be running a two-day soccer camp with 150 - 200 kids. As part of his travel, he will bring as many soccer balls and uniforms to Guatemala as possible.
Seth Harrington, the Team 10 coach, as well as Alexandra Gebur, the team sponsor, are very excited about the donation and wish Martin good luck in his 2012 soccer camp.
