Soccer Palace Tourney - Sunday, February 25, 2007
Game 1 - Ravens 2 Randolph 0 Game 2 - Ravens 1 Arsenal Hawks 2 Game 3 - Ravens 1 Sparta Rush 1
Result - 2nd place in flight; Winner - Arsenal Hawks
Game 7 - Ravens 5 Verona Dancing Queens 1 (Feb 22, 2007)
The Ravens were in command the entire way, and didn't allow Verona one dangerous shot on net. The girls were a little disappointed that they could not play for the championship due to scheduling issues as a result of last weeks cancelled scheduel. But now it's time to set our sights on two (2) tournaments prior to going outside for the Spring 07 season. (Ravens’ Lineup - Astrella, Fulton, Hay, Piccoli, Seldin, Valori, Logan, Vitencz, Wojcik, McLean)
Game 6 - Cancelled due to Snow and Ice (Feb 15, 2007)
Game 5 - Ravens 2 Kearny Thistle 6 (Feb 8, 2007)
The girls gave up four (4) corner kick goals in the first twenty mintues by failing to mark and take the ball on the head or chest. When you do that, only bad things happen. The girls tried to make a comback, but an overall lack of emotion and aggressiveness will guarantee that you will always come up short. (Ravens Lineup - Astrella, Fulton, Hay, Seldin, Valori, Lipinski, Logan, Piccoli, Vitencz, Wojcik)
Game 4 - Ravens 6 West Orange Raptors 1 (Jan 31, 2007)
After falling 1-2 to the Raptors last week, the Ravens sought revenge in a rare back-to-back game, and the outcome was never in doubt. The girls added to their arsenal the one and only thing they didn’t accomplish last week - - - "finishing up!" The game next week vs. Kearny Thistle will likely be for the flight championship. (Ravens Lineup - Astrella, Fulton, Hay, Seldin, Valori, Lipinski, Logan, Moreira, Piccoli)
Game 3 - Ravens 1 West Orange Raptors 2 (Jan 24, 2007)
This game saw the Ravens have the better of play for most of the game, and put a number of challenging shots on goal. However, the Raptors’ goalie, by far the outstanding player of the game, came up big a number of times. The Ravens made a strong push at the end and came close, but couldn’t find the back of the net. (Ravens Lineup - Astrella, Hay, Seldin, Valori, Vitencz, Wojcik, Lipinski, Logan)
Game 2 - Ravens 6 Livingston Strikers 0 (Jan 17, 2007)
The Ravens went up early in this contest, and then concentrated on quick possession play for the last twenty minutes of the game. The team challenged well, and didn’t allow Livingston to gain any momentum during the course of the game. The Ravens still need to put more shots on net; think about crossing angles; play even quicker; and get restarts in earlier. (Ravens’ Lineup - Astrella, Hay, Piccoli, Seldin, Valori, Vitencz, Wojcik, Lipinski, Stagl)
Game 1 - Ravens 6 Verona Dancing Queens 1 (Jan 10, 2007)
The Ravens took command early, and then had some great possessional and positional play in the waning minutes of the game vs. the Verona side. The scoring was spread out, and the rotational goalie system only let in one long kick, and probably the only strong shot on goal by Verona. Even though the game was one-sided, the Ravens need to pick up the pace and play faster, as well as work on getting all re-starts into play quicker. But overall, a great start to the indoor season. (Ravens’ Lineup - Astrella, Fulton, Hay, Piccoli, Seldin, Valori, Logan, Vitencz, Wojcik, McLean)
