Over 100 years ago, in the heart of industrial England, a large block of wasteland sat wedged between the factories and the small houses. The land was covered by nothing but Hawthorn bushes.

In the year 1900, West Bromwich Albion, one of the leading soccer teams at that time, decided to build their new stadium on this wasteland. All of the bushes had to be cleared. But for more than a Century, the stadium has continued to be known as “The Hawthorns".

The amazing part of The Hawthorns’ long history, however, is what happened some 80 years later. All of a sudden, people discovered that a new style of soccer was being played there — soccer that was more exciting, more energetic, more vibrant!

Thousands of fans watched the game being played in a way that it never had been before . . . and never has been since. Even today, people still talk about the exciting style of soccer that they saw at The Hawthorns in those days — and they wonder if they will ever see anything quite like it again.

Now it is the turn of a new generation of soccer players to be part of something special!
