The Cosmos played in the rescheduled Rockaway Howl-O-Ween Tournament against two strong opponents. The Cosmos showd how tough they are by out playing their opponents. The scores are still not reflecting the teams determination and hard work but it is obvious that the Boys are improving with every game. Their 'never-give-up' spirit is inspiring!

The first game was played against the Hanover Heat a flight 4 team and the Cosmos played with intensity throughout the game despite playing a goal down for most of the game. In the second half Jorge played a squirley shot from the corner which found the goalie on the wrong side of the goal line. The team pressed to post a win but the time ran out on their persistent efforts.

In the second game the Cosmos traveled cross town to face the Vernon Vipers. The Cosmos got themselves in quick trouble letting up two easy goals to the Vipers. This did not sit well with the tem and each player stepped up their game and took control. For the remainder of the half the Cosmos were in control and pressured Veernon. The first dtrike came from Robert on a well developed play. In the second half the Cosmos continued their assualt  and the Vipers were squirming. Cole found the back of the net with a nice strie on the ball. The game was now tied and the Cosmos were playing to win. Several opportunities did not find the net and the minutes were ticking away towards another tie. In soccer the score doesn't always tell the story and today the big story is the Cosmos toughness and perserverence. They deserved to win and to all of their fans they are certainly winners. Great job Team!

The Cosmos travelled to West Orange to meet the Wildcats one more time. The Cosmos tamed the Wildcats with a a well played game all arround. The passing, defending and offense opportunities were strong producing a 2 - 1 win for the Cosmos. West Orange applied constant pressure in the second hald but the Cosmos defense help up to the challenge to preserve the win. Robbie got the Cosmos on the board first with his usual hard work. In the second half Karl came in and positioned himself for a far post strike past the goal line.

On Sunday October 21, The Cosmos kicked off the second half of the season with the Verona Venom. The Cosmos were keene on showing off their improvement over their first game gainst Verona which they did with a spirted performance. The improvement in the Cosmos’ game was evident but the score didn’t reflect the hard work of the players. The Cosmos still have some missteps to handle which hurt tem in the final result against Verona. The Venom won 3 - 2 in a hard fouht match. The Cosmos scored early with Robert’s driving shot from the left side. Later in the second half Jorge placed an accurate free kick into the right upper 90 from 25 yards out.

The Cosmos started the Parsippany Pride Tournament under the lights at Lake Par Park and played very well against a strong Chatham team. There were no goals scored but the team showed that they can play aggressive soccer. On Saturday, the Cosmos continued to play strong and posted a 2-0 victory over the Wycoff Torpeedos. Cole and Robert found the net and brought home the game for the team. There were great performances all arround the team. On Sunday morning, a combination of the early game and the heat wilted the Cosmos efforts to win. There were several opportunities which could not find the back of the net. At vthe final whistle, the score favored the Torpeedos 3-1 with Karl posting the only Cosmos goal. On Sunday afternoon, the Cosmos regrouped, regained their form and dominated the BSA Spurs in a 6 - 0 win. Notable goals were scored by Simonas and Andrew who were accompanied by Robbie, Robert and Jorge with two goals. One goal seemed to be scored by a David Beckham on a curling corner kick into the net! Was Beckham really at the game?

I feel that this team is very special in the way they have come together from different soccer programs. The short time it has taken them to play good soccer together is impressive. Out of the nine goals scored in the tournament, six were scored by different players. Truly a team effort. They are a pleasure to have on the team and I am proud of coaching them. I would also like to thank all of our team volunteers for their hard work, whether marshalling, organizing, bringing snacks or just helping out in any way. You have made this a great tournament to participate in!

Great job everyone! et some rest and we’lll see eachother at our next practice.

The team posted their first win of the season with a spirted effort today. The Cosmos showed that they have a fighting spirit as they continue to fight back after a goal is scored against them. This is a strong attribute which will serve them well into the season. I am very proud of their progress in playing together as a team.

Our goals were scored by Robert and Robbie who continue to work hard up front while the defense repells the atatcks on goal. Good job and keep it up!

I’m very proud of the team’s performance today in their 3-3 tie with West Orange. Our team showed toughness and team work in their fight to come back after each of the West Orange goals. The team showed outstanding improvement over last game. This is all we can expect of our players to play at 100% effort and improve with every game. I am quite staisfied with the game and our team’s performance. Keep up the hard work!

We had three different players score today as a result of the players behind them doing their part to create opportunities to score. Today’s scorers were Robbie, Robert and Marc.
